Window Designs

As each conservatory is individually made, the choice of window detail plays an important part in creating the character of the conservatory. All timber window designs are made in the traditional proven way incorporating individual double glazed units. Our standard glaze bar for double glazing is 26mm wide, echoing the slender detail of that used during Georgian and Victorian periods.

An alternative way of creating a window design is to fix a decorative metal tracery to the exterior of the window. The traceries are cast in aluminium and are powdercoated.

The Hardwick is fitted with our beautiful hand made Architectural Bronze Casements metal windows. These can be fitted with either plain or leaded glass in a choice of designs.

Eaves and Guttering

We make our own ornamental aluminium guttering which is designed as an integral part of the roof structure and forms a continuous gutter with no visible support brackets or clips. This is provided with round section aluminium downpipes, brackets and show outlets. Each conservatory offers a choice of detail at the gutter or eaves.

Finials and Crestings

We offer a wide choice of metal decoration for the ridge on your conservatory. These are all foundry cast in aluminium to traditional methods and have a powdercoated finish ensuring long life of your ridge detail.

Paint Colours

Conservatories are frequently painted in colours ranging from soft and subtle hues including natural tones and off-whites, to stronger colours for a more dramatic effect.

To help clients decide what colour to paint their conservatory and also to make sure our buildings leave the factory with a paint that will perform well over the years and in all weather conditions, we have worked closely with a leading paint manufacturer to produce a range of colours in a high-performance paints developed for the professional user.

Vale Period Paint Collection has been designed with the conservatory in mind and is available in forty two beautiful. The colour range consists of subtle whites and creams through to more earthy and natural browns, greys and greens.

With the colours also being available in a high-performance matt Emulsion. The paint is versatile enough to be used throughout your home.

Decorating your conservatory

Each Vale conservatory will receive a primer/undercoat and a minimum of two coats of satin finish paint prior to leaving our workshops. Door thresholds are stained in Walnut.

Following installation all internal and external timber surfaces will require a final preparation in conjunction with the application of a top coat paint finish. We supply the paint for this final application but due to the fact that our conservatories are being installed throughout all times of the year and are often part of a larger project, this work is generally carried out by your local decorator.

We do however offer a full decorating service which many of our customers like to take up and have dedicated painters who are used to working all around the country.
